Stephen M. Juris has represented individuals and organizations in a wide variety of civil, criminal, and administrative matters, including criminal cases involving allegations of securities, commodities, tax, and mail fraud, investigations by regulators into broker-dealer trading practices and alleged labor law violations, civil RICO litigation, and litigation concerning the accounting practices of publicly traded companies. He has represented individuals and entities in sophisticated commercial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts, and has also conducted internal investigations for corporate clients.

Mr. Juris received an A.B. magna cum laude from Brown University and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Law and Policy Review. Following graduation, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert W. Sweet, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. Following his clerkship, Mr. Juris was associated with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell. At Davis Polk, Mr. Juris concentrated primarily on securities and class action litigation, bankruptcy-related litigation, internal investigations, and litigation concerning complex accounting and financial matters.

Mr. Juris joined Morvillo Abramowitz in 2002 and became a principal of the firm in 2006. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, the New York State Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and has been a contributor to the Business Crimes Bulletin and the New York Law Journal. He has spoken on issues relating to federal criminal practice and corporate internal investigations, and is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on White-Collar Criminal Litigation and the Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Courts Committee of that Association’s Dispute Resolution Section.

Mr. Juris is admitted in New York and to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
