Richard Albert Testifies on Behalf of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers Before the United States Sentencing Commission

On March 13, 2013 Morvillo Abramowitz Partner Richard Albert testified on behalf of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers before the United States Sentencing Commission in Washington, D.C. regarding the Commission's proposed amendment to Section 2T1.1 of the Sentencing Guidelines, which governs the computation of loss in criminal tax fraud cases. Addressing a split among the federal circuit courts, Mr. Albert testified in favor of considering unclaimed deductions when computing tax loss, to help ensure fairness and to make such computations more consistent with actual practice.
