Morvillo Abramowitz has received two First Tier Rankings and one Second Tier Ranking in the 2013 U.S. News - Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms" Rankings. The firm placed in the First Tier Ranking for New York: Criminal Defense: White Collar - Governmental Investigations, and New York: Criminal Defense: White Collar - Litigation. The firm also placed in the Second Tier Ranking for New York: Corporate Compliance Law.
Additionally, Morvillo Abramowitz Partners were listed in three Practice Areas in New York’s Best Lawyers 2013 edition. In the area of “Bet-the-Company Litigation,” Best Lawyers recognized Elkan Abramowitz and Paul Grand, and in the area of “Corporate Governance and Compliance Law,” Best Lawyers recognized Lawrence Iason. Abramowitz, Grand, and Iason were all recognized in the area of “Criminal Defense: White Collar”.
The U.S. News - Best Lawyers® "Best Law Firms" rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. To be eligible for a ranking, a law firm must have at least one lawyer who is included in Best Lawyers as part of the annual peer review assessment. An unprecedented amount of data was collected in the project's third year, resulting in the 2013 "Best Law Firms" rankings.
