On Wednesday, July 24, 2013, Morvillo Abramowitz partner Jonathan Sack participated in the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s first annual Full-Day CLE Program. Mr. Sack's panel, "Internal Investigations: Hot Topics and Red Flags," gave direction on how companies can best seek to resolve investigations efficiently and prudently.  He was joined by Thomas M. Merritt, Senior Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel, Knight Capital Group, Inc. and David L. Goldberg, Partner, Katten Muchin. Their presentation covered a wide range of topics including: Issues Arising in Internal Investigations As a Result of New Whistleblower Laws and Cases; Protecting Confidential and Sensitive Corporate Materials from Disclosure to the Government and to Civil Litigants Post Sarbanes-Oxley Obstruction of Justice; Indemnification and Advancement – Legal and Strategic Issues; and Corporate Settlements – Joint Defense Agreements and Non-Prosecution Agreements.
