On Wednesday, January 16, 2013 Morvillo Abramowitz Partner Jeremy Temkin served as a panelist on the New York City Bar Association’s Third Annual Town Hall Meeting: What Will Be the Hot Tax Issues for 2013? The panel was sponsored by The Personal Income Tax Committee and provided an opportunity for attorneys from all fields, accountants, other professionals and the general public to discuss the hot tax issues in 2013, including: The IRS’s initiative against undisclosed foreign accounts; the new “Fresh Start” initiative and other collection initiatives of the IRS and New York State Department of Taxation; whether tax authorities will rely more on whistleblowers and whether those whistleblowers will receive compensation; and upcoming legislation in 2013 that may be used by prosecutors against white collar criminal offenders.
