May 8, 2024

Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello PC is proud to have celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a gala dinner at the Rainbow Room last evening.

Known for pioneering the practice of white-collar criminal defense, the firm continues to be at the forefront of high stakes litigation and landmark representations involving allegations of financial crimes, corporate misconduct, and other wrongdoing. Over its 50-year history, the firm has achieved outstanding results for its clients in all situations, from convincing prosecutors to avoid or drop charges to securing victories at trial.

Founded by two former United States Attorneys for the Southern District of New York, John S. Martin and Otto Obermaier, the firm has come to be the go-to for clients facing the most complex and sensitive legal problems. The firm’s seventeen partners consist of elite lifelong defense lawyers and highly decorated former prosecutors.

“The collective experience of our lawyers, who come from the ranks of the judiciary, prosecuting offices and large firms, results in a unique approach to any client representation,” notes Partner Elkan Abramowitz, “and this is why clients seek us out.”

The firm is immensely proud of its illustrious alumni, many of whom are attending the gala celebration. These alumni include the current and former Manhattan District Attorneys, former directors of enforcement for federal agencies, federal and state judges, federal prosecutors, and esteemed elected officials. Many of the firm’s alumni have gone on to work together at their own law firms, inspired by the firm’s entrepreneurial spirit.

“The success of our alumni and their contributions to the legal profession in New York City and beyond are a testament to the training they received at the firm and the experience they gained here,” observes Partner Robert Anello. “We were delighted to celebrate 50 years of the firm with many of them.”
