Morvillo Abramowitz Partner Brian A. Jacobs Quoted in The Record

October 27, 2016

On October 27, 2016, Morvillo Abramowitz partner Brian A. Jacobs was quoted in an article titled, “Closings to begin in Bridgegate trial; question of motive divides experts.” After closing arguments were unexpectedly delayed in the “Bridgegate” trial, the District Court ruled that the upcoming jury instructions would not include a reference to the defendants’ alleged motive in closing George Washington Bridge access lanes, which prosecutors have argued was to punish the mayor of Fort Lee.  Brian states that based on the transcript of the jury instruction conference, prosecutors appear to have “every intention of arguing that the motive was punishment; they just didn’t want the motive in the jury instructions.”
