Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello PC, one of the leading white-collar criminal defense boutiques in the country, is proud to announce the addition of Thomas A. McKay as Partner, effective March 27, 2023. Tom joins the firm after a distinguished career in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, most recently as Co-Chief of the Public Corruption Unit.

During his tenure in the US Attorney's Office, Tom was known for his unwavering commitment to justice and his exceptional track record in securing convictions in some of the most high-profile and complex cases in the country. Over the course of his service, Tom tried and supervised hundreds of matters involving bribery, financial fraud, FCPA violations, tax crimes, campaign finance crimes, and drug and sex trafficking.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tom to the team," said Partner Tim Kasulis. "His reputation as a highly effective prosecutor and his deep understanding of the inner workings of the criminal justice system make him an invaluable asset to our clients."

As a Partner at Morvillo Abramowitz, Tom joins a group of partners boasting eleven alumni of United States Attorney’s Offices, including two Criminal Division Chiefs, a Chief Appellate Attorney, a Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney, a Chief of the Securities Fraud Unit, and a Chief of Health Care Fraud Prosecutions.

“Tom’s natural talent and broad experience is a natural fit for our firm as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding by two former prosecutors and we are thrilled to have him join us,” added Partner Elkan Abramowitz.

Tom brings his extensive experience and expertise to the firm, helping clients navigate thorny legal and regulatory issues. He will play a key role in the firm's ongoing efforts to provide top-notch representation to individuals and corporations confronted with criminal investigations and prosecutions, as well as complex civil disputes.

"I am honored to join Morvillo Abramowitz and work with such a talented group of lawyers. The firm's reputation for integrity and excellence is well-deserved, and I look forward to being a part of it," commented Tom.

Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Tom served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Karen LeCraft Henderson, U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the Honorable Paul A. Engelmayer, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. cum laude from Princeton University.
